What a difference a week makes. What difference 4000 miles make. From the freezing English summer to the sweltering heat of the Indian summer. Such is life. Quick wrap up of the week so far before we move onto more important Liverpool stuff. The week started in Delhi and a seven hour queue to renew my Spanish visa. I’m sure getting tickets for the Champions League finals would have been easier. Had to kick and push and jostle just to get into the embassy. That is hopefully done now, though I still need to go back and collect my passport. Now for some good news – I got a full time offer for next year after my summer internship. Am super thrilled and am looking forward to moving to London for a new phase.
Liverpool won the UEFASuper Cup yesterday beating CSKA Moscow 3-1 after falling behind early in the game. Cisse came on as a late substitute and scored two and set one up for Garcia. It’s always nice to win another trophy and I remember reading on the BBC that now Liverpool is the English team with the most European trophies. It was nice to see Cisse score, what with all the speculation of him moving to Marseille. Rafa has been playing him on the right for the last few matches; we can’t possibly let that continue, a RW man is a must. With Baros gone and Morientes’ largely indifferent form, I am convinced that despite Rafa’s ‘we are not looking for a striker’ chants, Owen must be extremely close to an Anfield return. He has nothing to prove in the Premiership and getting someone who can hit the back of the net 20 times a season is crucial for Liverpool. We can’t continue to depend on our midfield all the time. To challenge for the top 3 we need to have atleast one striker firing.
The Premiership is about three games old and Chelscum have already started getting lucky. A 1-0 win over Arsenal from an off-side, lucky Drogthug shin deflection the perfect case in point. With Chelsea in our group after the Champions League draw, I can’t wait for them to come to Anfield and cry all over again. Pussies. I shall try and look into the draw some other time during my stay in India. Man U Yankees have got off to a flyer as well and are looking pretty good. Was great to see Everton dumped out of the Champions League – Moyes the blue shite with his ‘clubs like Everton, Spurs, Charlton and Liverpool are fighting for the same group of players’ should learn to shut up and understand that nobody who is given a chance to play for Liverpool will ever, EVER, consider Everton. Ask Sissoko you little piece of blue shite.
That is that then. Time for some Ashes action. Hasta luego!
